DAY 10 PREVIEW: The big three hit centre court for the first time as the ASB Classic enters the second round.

Second seed Cam Norrie the hometown hero, well he grew up in Auckland and dad David and mum Helen still live in Buckland’s Beach, takes on Czech qualifier Jiri Lehecka in the second match on centre court, Norrie was a runner up in 2019 and since then he’s won the unofficial fifth Major at Indian Wells and reached the semis at Wimbledon last year, and I should mention a first career win over Rafael Nadal last week.

The opening match on centre court sees the pocket rocket from Argentina, Diego Schwartzman take on powerful young American Jenson Brooksby while top seed Casper Ruud the world number 3 enters the fray in the night session.

Ground pass holders are in for a treat with French star Richard Gasquet on the Grandstand Court against lucky loser from qualifying Joao Sousa as is Kiwi doubles superstar Michael Venus and his British partner Jamie Murray against the American pair of Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow.

The Kiwi wildcard pair of Ajeet Rai and Finn Reynolds face one of the best doubles teams on the planet, Croatians Nickola Mektic and Mate Pavic the Olympic champions on Court 2.
