Spaniards look for place in Heineken Open Final

Tennis fans could be attending an all-Spanish final tomorrow if Spaniards, Roberto Bautista-Agut and David Ferrer take out their respective semi-finals today.

First up on centre court, world number 73 Bautista-Agut will take on the 2010 Heineken Open champion, John Isner (USA). Isner has been on fine form this tournament, with his notorious serve leading him to victory over Heineken Open veteran, Philipp Kohlschreiber in yesterday’s quarter final. Bautista-Agut defeated US hopeful Jack Sock in straight sets in the quarters, despite Sock making waves in the second round when he knocked out second seed, Tommy Haas.

The second match sees a showdown between top seed and world number three, David Ferrer, and Taiwan’s Yen-Hsun Lu, who currently sits at world number 62. Lu defeated the tournament’s Lucky Loser, Steve Johnson (USA) in straight sets last night, while Ferrer overcame countryman, Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in a truly world-class match, 6-3 5-7 6-4.
