The top ranked Uruguay player has captured six ATP Tour titles in his career. All of these tournament wins came on his favourite surface, clay. His latest this year in Sao Paulo. The 31- year-old became the first player since the tournament began in 2001 to win three consecutive Brazil Open titles. Cuevas is a grand slam champion, winning the Roland Garros doubles title in 2008 with Peruvian Luis Horna. While clay fits with his baseline game, the 6th seed will be no easy beat in Auckland.
