Day Two Done and Dusted!

Day Two Done and Dusted!

It was a picture-perfect day at the ASB Classic with lots of tennis, sun and good vibes.

Despite losing the defending champ Lauren Davis first up, the crowd was treated to an epic three set battle between third seed Barbora Strycova and 2012 Roland Garros finalist Sara Errani. The pair have played each other multiple times, today though Strycova got the upper hand in the first set, taking it 64. The pint-sized Italian fought back in the second set, snatching it in a tie breaker. The final set didn’t disappoint either, both players emptying the tank and after three hours Strycova came out on top 64 67(3) 64.

The night session saw top seed Caroline Wozniacki sail through her first-round match while Kiwi wildcard Jade Lewis had the crowd on her side before falling 64 63 to qualifier Viktoria Kuzmova.

Tomorrow will deliver another action-packed day session with top seed Caroline Wozniacki and third seed Barbora Strycova vying for a spot in the quarter finals while the night session will bring you world class tennis from 2013 Champion Agnieszka Radwanska and second seed Julia Goerges.

Don’t miss out, gates open at 11am and matches start at 12.30pm!
