Action packed Friday at the ASB Classic

Another action-packed day of tennis is on the card for tennis fans with some big matches lined up for centre court.

First up in the day session 17-year old prodigy Amanda Anisimova who takes on Viktoria Kuzmova.. The young American, who received a wildcard to the tournament and won her way through with an upset win over 5th seed Barbora Strycova, 6-3 6-3 earlier today.

The feature match for Friday’s day session is defending champion Julia Goerges facing off against Canadian glamour girl Eugenie Bouchard, who took almost 3 hours to dispatch Bibiane Schoofs last night. With both players known for their powerful groundstrokes from the baseline, there’s no doubt this will be a must watch for fans!

To finish off the session Bouchard will head back to centre court for her doubles match, teaming up with Sofia Kenin and taking on Xinyun Han and Darija Jurak.

The evening session will serve up some thrilling match ups with our biggest stars.

First up will be the winners from tonight’s matches. With world number 3 Caroline Wozniacki, former champions Venus Williams and Lauren Davis and the Canadian qualifier Bianca Andreescu all in the mix this quarter-final under lights will be incredible.

Taking centre stage next will be third seed Su-Wei Hsieh against Sara Sorribes Tormo. Sorribes Tormo comes to the match after beating Kirsten Flipkens in a tough 3 setter on Wednesday morning, whereas Hsieh had an easier road with a quick 6-1, 7-6 win over Rio Gold medallist Monica Puig.
